Official Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV wallpapers are available in the game's Media section. The download choices include 4K, Ultrawide and Mobile options, several versions of the main wallpaper with different logo placement, and Adeptus Mechanicus and Necron artwork.
Choose the artwork group first, then use the format button for your display. Download the full image rather than the small gallery preview. The button labels identify the intended format; check the actual downloaded file before assuming its exact dimensions or how it will crop on your screen.
Find the official wallpaper collection
Open the official Dawn of War IV game page, choose Media and look for the Wallpapers section. It is separate from the video thumbnails and gameplay screenshots on the same page.
That distinction matters because a video thumbnail is made to identify a trailer, not necessarily to fill your screen at good quality. The wallpaper section supplies dedicated download choices beneath the relevant artwork previews.
Use this sequence:
- Open the game's official Media section.
- Scroll to Wallpapers rather than saving a trailer thumbnail.
- Choose the artwork group you want.
- Select its 4K, Ultrawide or Mobile download where offered.
- Save the full file and preview it on your intended display.
A preview can be much smaller than the linked wallpaper. If the file you saved looks like a tiny gallery card, return to the format button instead of enlarging that preview.

The official download choices
The collection contains several related versions, so the first choice is the artwork and logo arrangement. The second is its display format.
| Artwork group | 4K file | Ultrawide file | Mobile file |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main wallpaper | 3840 × 2160 PNG | 3440 × 1440 PNG | 1440 × 2560 PNG |
| Main wallpaper, lower-logo version | 3840 × 2160 PNG | 3440 × 1440 PNG | 1440 × 2560 PNG |
| Main wallpaper, upper-logo version | 3840 × 2160 PNG | 3440 × 1440 PNG | 1440 × 2560 PNG |
| Adeptus Mechanicus artwork | 3841 × 2160 PNG | Not listed | 1440 × 2560 PNG |
| Necron artwork | 3840 × 2160 JPEG | 3440 × 1440 JPEG | 1440 × 2560 JPEG |
The dimensions above describe the full files, rather than their gallery thumbnails. Some filenames are misleading: the lower-logo mobile file is a 1440 × 2560 portrait image despite numbers suggesting a landscape file in its name. The Adeptus Mechanicus mobile file is also 1440 × 2560. Use the image information rather than the filename when checking fit.
The upper-logo and lower-logo variants give you alternatives when the title competes with desktop or phone interface elements. Choose by how the image works on your screen, rather than assume that one logo position is best for every device.
The Adeptus Mechanicus group does not list an Ultrawide button in this collection. If that is the artwork you prefer for a wide display, inspect the available file and its fit instead of assuming a dedicated ultrawide version exists beside it.
These are choices listed in the official collection as checked for this guide. They are not a promise that every future wallpaper will have the same variants or that every device is covered by a custom-made export.
Choose the subject and composition
The main wallpaper shows an Ork assault meeting Space Marine fire in a warm yellow battlefield scene. Its centre-logo version puts the title over the middle of the action. The lower-logo desktop version moves the title to the bottom left, while the upper-logo desktop version puts it at the top right. These are visible placement differences, not separate factions or editions of the game.
Choose the centre version if the title itself is part of what you want to see. Choose a corner version if you prefer to keep more of the central battle unobstructed, then compare that corner with your icons. Do not assume that a corner logo disappears when a desktop tool fills the screen; it can be cropped just like any other part of the image.
The Adeptus Mechanicus mobile artwork centres a red-robed mechanical figure above supporting troops. The Necron ultrawide artwork uses a broad green battlefield composition with machines and infantry spread across the width. These offer a stronger change of subject than switching between the three logo positions on the main picture.
For a mixed-device collection, you can therefore choose by faction as well as shape: the main Ork battle for one display, the Adeptus Mechanicus portrait for a phone or the Necron wide scene for a monitor. Check each selected file independently rather than assume that its subject or logo occupies the same place as another version.
Choose a format for the display you actually use
Start with the format that matches the shape of the screen. A landscape desktop, a particularly wide monitor and a portrait phone require different framing even when they use the same subject.
The 4K label identifies the collection's high-resolution desktop choice. Ultrawide identifies a wider composition option where it is offered. Mobile identifies the phone-oriented option. Those labels are useful starting points, but the actual file and your display determine the final fit.
Before applying the wallpaper, inspect the image's width and height in your file information or image viewer. Then compare the shape with the display you intend to use. Avoid choosing solely by a large resolution label if the crop removes the part of the artwork you wanted.
An image can also be large enough for the screen while still needing a framing decision. More pixels do not prevent a portrait screen from cropping a landscape composition, and they do not move the game title away from an on-screen clock.
Compare the logo positions before committing
The main wallpaper's logo variants are particularly useful when you want the game title visible without putting it underneath your everyday interface.
Preview the upper-logo and lower-logo choices with the same display settings. Check whether the title remains complete, whether icons cover it and whether the image's focal area still has enough room. Do the comparison at the size you will actually use rather than judge only the thumbnails.
For a desktop, include your usual icon arrangement and taskbar or dock in the preview. For a phone, check both the lock screen and home screen if you intend to use the image in both places. A placement that works around the lock-screen clock can behave differently behind app icons.
You do not need to force the logo to be the focus. If your priority is the artwork, choose the version whose title position interferes least with it.
Use the dedicated ultrawide option where available
If you have an ultrawide display, begin with the Ultrawide button under the selected artwork. The main wallpaper variants and Necron group offer that choice in the official collection.
A dedicated wide version is worth checking before cropping a more conventional desktop image. It gives you a candidate intended for that format, though you should still inspect how it fits your particular monitor and wallpaper setting.
Compare the edges after applying it. Check that the subject and title have not been cut off by a fill option and that the image has not been stretched out of proportion. If the display and image shapes differ, decide whether you prefer cropping or preserving the complete composition with unused space.

Choose the mobile file for a phone
Use the Mobile choice when you want a phone wallpaper instead of immediately cropping the desktop download. The official collection provides mobile options for each listed artwork group.
Preview the result on the phone itself. A portrait image still has to share space with the clock, notifications and app icons. Check the top and bottom of the composition as well as the central subject before saving the final placement.
If your device allows repositioning, move the image only far enough to keep the parts you care about visible. A crop that preserves the character but removes most of the title may suit one purpose, while a logo-led lock screen may need a different variant.
Do not assume that a filename or the Mobile button guarantees an exact native fit for every phone. Devices have different screen shapes and interface layouts. Inspect the downloaded file and the final on-device preview, especially if the image appears enlarged or unexpectedly cropped.

Save and verify the full image
After choosing a format, open or save the file offered by that specific download. Avoid taking a screenshot of the web page to create the wallpaper; it can include interface elements and discard detail that is present in the original image.
Check the saved file in an image viewer before applying it. Confirm that it is the intended artwork, that the title is complete where you want it and that the dimensions are consistent with the file you selected. If a download opens in a browser tab, save that image rather than a smaller copy from the gallery.
A useful local filename can include the artwork, format and logo variant. That helps you compare alternatives without repeatedly downloading the same file. Preserve the original image while trying crops so that you can return to the full composition later.
Official art and community gallery results
Community wallpaper galleries can also appear in searches for Dawn of War IV. Their game tags can help discovery, but a tag does not establish that every image is official game artwork or that it belongs to the correct numbered release.
For an official wallpaper, compare the candidate with the collection described above. Check the complete Dawn of War IV title, especially the Roman numeral, rather than accepting any familiar Space Marine image as a match.
Keep image availability separate from reuse permission. A wallpaper offered for download is not, by itself, an open licence for publishing, merchandise or redistribution. If your task goes beyond choosing a background for your own display, check the terms applying to the particular asset and use.
For the wallpaper task itself, the shortest route is concrete: choose a group in the official Media collection, select its display format, download the full image and preview the logo and crop on your actual screen.
